ISSN:2972-4201 Annotation This article examines the historical path of symphonic music development in the Asia-Pacific region, using the development of symphonic music in the People's Republic of China as an example. It covers aspects of the stages of development of Chinese symphonic music; the formation of Chinese symphonic music; the practice of introducing symphonic music into Chinese culture; the influence of the Cultural Revolution and the vertical integration of symphonic music into the national Beijing Opera; the history of the first symphony orchestras and the role of conductors in shaping the repertoire of Chinese symphony orchestras; biographies of some representatives of symphonic culture in China who were at the origins of the development.
