Long Live Music!

Throughout the history of humanity, nations have arisen, developed, and often been destroyed, leaving behind traces of pain and suffering. By nature, humans strive for unity, yet paradoxically, they also exhibit feelings of superiority and competition that simmer and lead to conflicts. Nations, instead of serving as places of unity and support, often become arsenals for weapons, symbols of enmity and division. Why does this happen? Why, possessing a common human essence, do we continue to remain divided?

On one hand, each nation takes pride in its heritage, culture, and traditions. This is natural and even necessary — to feel a sense of belonging to something greater than oneself. However, this pride, transformed into nationalism, often leads to unfounded claims of superiority. The desire to protect one’s interests frequently turns into war, violence, and intolerance. We see how political ideologies and economic advantages become a priority, overshadowing the shared humanity of all people.

For example, we can look at contemporary conflicts where national interests become the primary arguments for the commencement of military actions. The world increasingly transforms into a battleground, where instead of dialogue and compromise, there is a rush to open confrontations. People, forgetting their common fate and shared history, begin to kill one another over who "talks differently," "looks different," or "thinks differently." From time to time, we hear about the escalation of old conflicts, where the roots of enmity stretch deep into the past, like bloody roots caught in the conditions of modernity.

However, despite all this, there is something capable of breaking the chains of division and hatred. This is music — a universal language that unites people, regardless of their nationality, race, or religion. The sounds of music can evoke emotions that are beyond words; it can serve as a bridge between cultures and connect hearts when obstacles seem insurmountable. Music possesses a unique power to erase boundaries that fail to contain the shared humanity present in each of us.

Take, for example, music festivals that gather people from all corners of the world. People relax, celebrate, and share joy. The sounds of different cultures blend together, creating a harmony that seems impossible in the real world. In this moment, nations lose their significance, and what truly unites us emerges — a love for music, art, and the feeling of being alive.

Yes, let the nations that divide us and lead us into endless wars and conflicts be cursed. But let us be blessed by the music that unites and heals. After all, we are all humans, and our true interest lies in building peace rather than destroying it. Music is the light in the darkness that can guide us toward mutual understanding and love, if only we allow it to do so.
